- #Tokyo
More than anything, I love Japan! Amazing food, rich history, beautiful art and scenery and of course great people. After studying abroad in Osaka and getting a job at an Osaka-based company, little did I know that I would be moving to Tokyo. In Tokyo I had almost zero friends and I did not know any of my colleagues there. Would I be welcome in Tokyo like I was in Osaka?
During my first week of work, my colleagues hosted two birthday parties for me; one in Tokyo and one in Osaka. In Tokyo, my colleagues invited me to one of their homes during the weekend. They held a pizza party, bought me a cake, and gave me really nice presents. I was new to Tokyo and already within a few days I had been blown away by the incredible hospitality of my colleagues here. From that moment on, I realized that not only was I welcome in Tokyo but would also soon begin to call Tokyo my home.
